Our website (https://www.itsascam.io) and SMS support line provide educational information and conversation-based support. We are not an emergency service or a replacement for law enforcement, medical care, or licensed mental health treatment.

2. Acceptance of these terms

By using our website, texting our number, or otherwise interacting with It’s A Scam., you agree to these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use the website or text line.

3. Who this is for

Our primary audience is teenagers and young adults who may be experiencing online sextortion or blackmail, as well as parents, caregivers, and youth-serving adults. If you are under the age required to consent to online services in your location, you should use this site and text line with the knowledge of a parent, caregiver, or other trusted adult when possible.

4. Not an emergency or professional service

It’s A Scam. is not:

  • A 911 or emergency response service
  • A suicide prevention or self-harm hotline
  • Law enforcement or legal representation
  • Licensed medical or mental health treatment

If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 911 (or your local emergency number) right away. If you are experiencing thoughts of self-harm or suicide, contact your local crisis hotline, national suicide prevention line, or emergency services.

While we strive to offer accurate, up-to-date information, we cannot guarantee outcomes or results. You are responsible for your own decisions and actions.

6. Message terms for the SMS support line

By texting our number, you consent to receive SMS messages from It’s A Scam. in response to your messages. Key details:

  • Brand identification: Messages will come from It’s A Scam.
  • Message type: Messages are conversational and sent in response to your texts. We do not run marketing campaigns or recurring promotional programs.
  • Message & data rates: Standard message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile carrier and plan.
  • Opt-out: You can reply STOP at any time to stop receiving messages from us.
  • Help: You can reply HELP for basic information about the service.

If you change your mobile number, you are responsible for updating or discontinuing your use of the service to avoid messages being delivered to someone else who later receives your former number.
